The GS+ Main Window
GS+ puts all parts of geostatistics analysis within a single
integrated window. There are 5 principal windows in GS+, corresponding to
major tasks in geostatistical analysis: a Data Worksheet Window, a
Descriptive
Statistics window (including frequency
distributions and coordinate
postings), and separate windows for
Autocorrelation Analysis,
Interpolation (including
Kriging, Inverse Distance
Weighting, and Conditional
Simulation), and
Mapping. Additional windows provide ancillary analyses such as Variance Cloud Analysis,
h-Scattergram Analysis, and
Cross-Validation (Jackknife) Analysis. Other windows that support specific analyses include
windows for adjusting or defining variogram model parameters,
polygon (blanking)
vertices, interpolation grids, semivariance lag class intervals,
map contour
intervals, and data filtering.
GS+ suggests default values for all analyses, and these
defaults
are easily changed – making GS+ both a powerful system for testing different
assumptions behind the analysis, as well as an easy system on which to learn geostatistics.
